In each episode, host Susan Lambert, chief academic officer of elementary humanities at 抖阴成人版app, explores the increasing body of scientific research about how reading is best taught. As a former classroom teacher, administrator, and curriculum developer, Susan has special interests in turning theory into best practices that educators can use in the classroom and showcasing national models of reading instruction excellence.

Throughout Season 9, we鈥檒l build on the fundamentals of evidence-based literacy instruction, reexamining the key principles of reading research while exploring the latest science. Dr. Ashby touches on the impact of phonology on comprehension, the Matthew Effect, and why the term 鈥渋nstant words鈥 is more accurate than 鈥渟ight words.鈥 You鈥檒l walk away from this episode with two practical exercises Dr. Ashby recommends for teaching students to transfer oral segmenting and blending to reading and writing tasks.
